I realize that the Reunion Planning Committee knows what to expect at the 2005 reunion but what should we as classmates not involved in the planning expect to find as we arrive at the reunion? Will it be just like 2004? If not, what differences and changes can we expect as we check in and get ready for a great evening of meeting old and new friends? Can someone give us a preview here in the Forum or maybe you could add another item to the Menu Bar for what to expect and what the evening's plans are! I know that you might want some things to be a surprise as we mingle through out the evening but what is the basic format and setup so that I know what to expect when I arrive. I realize that some of this information was listed in the newsletter but it would be nice to see it listed on the website. Thanks again to all the people involved in the planning and staging of the reunion and all of the hard work you have done and will do in order to pull off another successful reunion party for the JMHS alumni.
A virtual nostalgic stroll through JMHS Memory Lane, nothing like 2000! Lots of new faces, 1st time reunion attendees, a fantastic dinner show, great food, the best hotel, longer hours and so much more! Take our word, we are excited about the Reunited 2005 plans and you can bet it will be 1st class!
I attended in 2000 and we had a great time, but I can't make the reunion in July. My son is getting married that weekend. I promise not to miss 2010 in 5 years. Have a great time!
I went to Marshall for 3 years, and was invited to this year's 4 class reunion. I cannot wait, because I heard all about the 2000 reunion and how awesome it was for all the classes. But you mentioned something about the next reunion in 2010, and that you will go to that one because you have to miss this one.
I am not going to miss this one, and I'll tell you why. I have a friend who's cousin is one of this year's reunion planners, and they said this would be the last combined reunion, period.
I guess the inflated prices of food at the big hotels is just one of the reasons, and another is that some committee members plan to retire by or before 2010, and don't want to be committed to another huge endeavor like planning a 4-year class reunion again. Her cousin said it was a lot of work to raise money for a solid year before the reunion, plus they have to start the whole planning process at least 2 years before the event. I'm sure she's talking about the classes 1969-1972.
That's all I know Lynn, so you might want to think about it since this will apparently be the last reunion for these JMHS classmates.
Hey Josh! What class were you in? The combined style reunion is a very good idea. I went in 2000 and I am going to attend 2005. I would hate to go back to the small single class reunions, where there is seldom over 75 people there. You don't have the chance to see half as many old friends as you do at the big reunions, plus it's nice to see friends from other classes. Maybe someone will put together another combined in 2010 if the current people are not going to do it. I would do it for sure but I live out of town and it would be impossible. We can only hope! Lynn
